Discussion/Action

RecommendationAuthorize CVAG staff to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a consultant to assist jurisdictions and CVAG with Green for Life implementation.

Recommendation: Provide a letter to the Imperial County Board of Supervisors and to Burrtec Waste Industries in support of Riverside County's efforts to address concerns regarding the lack of mitigation efforts for impacts to Riverside County and the Coachella Valley from the proposed expansion of the Salton City Landfill.

Recommendation: Direct staff to develop regional Neighborhood and Plug-in Electric Vehicle/Alternative Transportation programs, including infrastructure and route planning. To accomplish this, staff recommends the following actions:

1)

Approve Resolution 11-010 authorizing the Executive Director to take actions necessary to implement a Regional Plug-in Electric Vehicle Readiness plan if California Energy Commission funding is received.

2)

Authorize the Executive Director to enter into one or more contracts, for a total of up to $100,0000 ($40,000 which could be used as matching funds for the above), with consultants as necessary to develop a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle/Bicycle Parkway concept.

Recommendation: Confirm the Designation of CVAG 2012 STIP Funds for the Jefferson Street/ 10 Interchange Project.

Recommendation: Authorize Staff to Solicit Transportation Enhancement Activity Funds for Improvements to Interchange Projects.

Recommendation: 1) Disband the standing Human and Community Resources Committee; and 2) Replace this committee with an Ad Hoc Committee which will meet as deemed necessary to address legislation, regional policy and potential duplication of public services.
